Alarm Systems for Business & Home

We Take Home Security & Business Security Seriously

An alarm system is often thought of as the foundation of any security system. It all starts with an intrusion alarm, or intrusion system, to protect the outer perimeter of a building. Home security is a gigantic market these days, but even then most American households still do not have just the basic protection of a home security alarm system.

Alarm systems have come quite a long way in recent years. Going back to the days of a simple numeric keypad, then to an alphanumeric keypad, and now to a touch screen or touch panel. Even the alphanumeric keypads have left their legacy with big companies like ADT and Stanley Security still using them in business applications, because there still exists a need. Many industrial warehouses and manufacturing facilities just need functionality versus aesthetics. A touch panel is alot more delicate than the old school style plastic keypads.

In terms of system design, the keypad is the first thing one usually sees when entering a home or business, so thus it should be visually appealing. In the past it didn't really matter since that was the latest and greatest in technology. Nowadays, the keypad being separate from the physical security panel is no longer necessary. Most modern systems its all-in-one keypad and panel. You can get a touchscreen that just needs the ancillary sensors programmed, all wirelessly. The door contacts, motion detectors, key fobs, etc. are all wireless back to the combo panel. Door sensors are now even easier to install, just slap and stick for the most part, and for added security there are included screws to ensure a long-term installation. Same goes for the PIR motion sensors, slap and stick with adhesive on the back.

System management is entirely different than even 15 years ago. Now a business owner or home owner can manage their entire security system from their home. And it all starts with the alarm panel being the central hub for the entire operation. In the security industry, and now the tech industry, we use the term "on-premise" for physical components of a system being on site. Rewind 20 years ago everything was on-premise with the entire security system being 100% managed on site. Something went wrong, you had to drive to your home or business and physically disarm the alarm. Now with a simple screen tap all is well from anywhere in the world.

With touchscreens being commonplace in today's world, people expect that same luxury and ergonomics in their home or place of business. Many of the time, users aren't even interacting with the touch panel but rather their phones 99% of the time. But nevertheless the ability is always there. You can arm or disarm, turn lights off and on, adjust lighting zones, control various lights in the home, adjust temperature, view cameras, adjust sensors that are connected, the list goes on. Really the systems we sell today are more a complete automation system versus a security system, because security is the minority of the functionality and purpose for today's home security systems.
